Introduction

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Andrew Matthews and I'm a snowboarder athlete from Yellowknife, NWT. I decided to start this blog to keep my friends, family, fans and sponsors up to date about my life as a full time snowboarder. Discovery Air - Diamond Sponsor!

Discovery Air has answered the call of supporting high performance sport in the NWT. This year they moved up two levels from last year's Silver Sponsorship to my Diamond Level! Discovery Air's philanthropic contribution has allowed me to increase my amount of high quality training, case in point my three week training camp in Colorado this past December. Without the support of outstanding community leaders like Discovery Air, I would not have the opportunity to pursue my dreams and goals in competitive snowboarding. Thank you!

Discovery Air is also supporting NWT high performance snowboarder Molly Molligan with her athletic pursuits; as well as several other well deserving initiatives. For more information check out their Community Involvement page here.

One Shot Wednesday Back Rodeo

This week I've been training with the National Slopestyle Team on a private custom air bag jump session. It's been great to get comfortable flipping again. Today I decided enough is enough, time to get comfortable pulling back rodeos on snow. Thanks goes out to Tack for getting the shot and Canada~Snowboard for allowing me to session the bag jump this week!

One Shot Wednesday

Happy New Year!

I thought it would be cool if I try to upload my favorite shot from the week every Wednesday. Here's the first One Shot Wednesday. It's from an amazing lap where we got incredibly lucky with the opening of Harmony Chair as we were debating whether or not to stay and wait. Needless to say, it was epic! Enjoy
