15th Annual Showcase Showdown

The longest running snowboard competition in Canada went down last weekend. The Showcase Showdown returned to the Whistler base this year and it was awesome!
I would say its the best course since it was a pipestyle contest in 2008. Shout out goes to Brad Broughton for making the whole thing come together.

Everyone was throwing down despite tough conditions. Once it started snowing it was really hard to clear the jump. We were dropping in way above the course, getting 'bro tows' in and then speed tucking the entire way to the jump in the finals. Congrats to Molly Molligan for placing 2nd. As for me, after falling on my first 2 runs I landed my 3rd and final run clean which was good enough for 6th place.

Showdown Over the City

 Hey hey,

My brother took some photos from my last competition the Quiksilver Showdown Over the City at Grouse Mountain last weekend. The sun was out and the jumps were huge for the green run they were on... not the best combination. Speed was a huge issue for the riders. The park crew had to trim down the jumps as much as possible after the riders were unable to clear the last jump in qualification. The next day they were ready with bags and bags of salt. Even still the best guys were narrowly clearing the last jump. Pretty crazy.

One shot one day late

This weeks one shot is from my qualification run at Snow Crown last week. In semis I ended up being on the bubble to make finals. It was such a fun week of riding in the sun and a great event. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
